Title: Info on Glass Studio STAKLAND
Post by: ghwm123 on September 04, 2013, 11:07:10 PM
Has anyone ever heard of this glass artist called  STAKLAND. I have a very large vase and I can't seem to find any info. The vase is dated 1981.

Thanks
Gregory

Never heard of it but go look in the direction of the baltic. The word for glass in lithuanian, in latvian and various other related languages is steklo, stikl or stakl - it could not be a coincidence.

If you could post a picture of the vase and signature/label it would be very helpful.

I can see a glass manufacturer or store being called the Baltic equivalent (or a combination thereof) glassland.

There's a completed listing for one from Ontario, CA, USA,  which shows the signature on the base side, so perhaps an American studio piece? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111106168832
