Someone on eBay says this is a 1930s Fenton Jadite bowl and base, although theirs has a green rather than black base. They're asking $245! Asking and getting, obviously, are two different things. My question: is this, in fact, a Fenton piece from the 1930s? Any information would be appreciated.

First glance, we don't believe it to be Fenton, but could be wrong. What is the diameter of the widest part of the bowl?

Looks a bit like Davidsons to me, ??? ;D ;D

8 3/4" diameter at widest part. Here's the one on eBay, for what it's worth: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1930s-Fenton-Glass-Jade-Green-Jadeite-Console-Bowl-w-Base-2-Pcs-/181203203758?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a308d76ae Different design and color of stand, as you can see.

They've got the plinth upside down!!! and I wonder how there is "fading" inside the bowl. Don't think it's Davidson though

Perhaps they are meaning the colour density change where the glass is thicker?

Might want to check out Northwood Jade also.
