Title: Frank Eisner?
Post by: Nick77 on September 10, 2013, 02:10:49 PM
Just got this one and I'm 98% certain it is by Frank Eisner, the flowers are right in petal number and style and the typical grid of small bubbles are on the underside of the petals. The mound shape seems right too.
But I've never seen this colour of mound before by him brown/amber rather than the usual speckled green and its huge 3 3/4" (96mm) diameter by 2 7/8" (73mm) tall which has just made me question it a little.

Any thoughts?

Nick

Looks right to me. Largest one I have is 3 3/8 inch dia, 2 1/2 inch high and it has what is probably the same blue petals as yours in one the flowers.

Thanks Kevin, it was the mound colour that threw me, have you seen it before?

I have checked my personal copy images (eBay etc) and I have not found an example with the same blobbed orange as yours. But I have found one with four pale blue flowers on a powdered lighter orange. And another with different coloured flowers on a dark orange ground that again seems to be a more even powdered colour as opposed to blobbed.
