Title: Archimedi Seguso - pair of Lamps
Post by: ardy on September 11, 2013, 06:08:25 AM
Hi All I have been looking for a pair of A.S. lamps to add to my collection without much success until now. These are in A1 condition and will suit our new house (if we ever get it finished).

I have attached the gold version of these lamps as I looked for a matching one but could not find one I was prepared to spend on. Will have to sell the orphan (maybe). Certainly some of my lamps will have to go I have too many.   ??? Still lets not talk about that possibility  :-X

regards

ardy

LOL...I had my eyes on that pair ardy, but will wait for a similar one to the white & gold piece to come up so I can finally make a pair :) I am sure that will take forever!

Hi Kane - how odd as I have been looking for a match to mine.

Would you be interested in making me an offer for my orphan?

Hi Ardy, I might be interested. I will let you know once I do my tax return! I would like to finally get a pair of lamps for a change.

Are you in a rush to sell or can you wait a few weeks?

Hi Kane I have had it for the last 5 years looking for a match to make a pair so a few more weeks or months ain't gonna change anything.

Only proviso is, if I see another [fat chance ;D] and the price is right I will grab it to have a pair or pairs.

regards

BTW Kane I picked up a clam vase today and not sure if it is a Seguso VDA one or another. Will post it here in the next day or so for your expert assessment.

Kane - How bizarre, there is one for sale on ebay.au, life is strange. You could grab this one which I think is a bit over priced. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VINTAGE-ITALIAN-VENETIAN-MURANO-SEGUSO-WHITE-GOLD-ART-GLASS-LAMP-SHADE-/350870624496?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item51b184d8f0

Ha ha toooo funny! I will pass also on it. Way expensive and no label. If it was pair for that price, I might.

I am amazed about how many A.S lamps turn up on OZ ebay!

Not easy to shove one in your carry on bag from the BIG trip to Europe most Aussies take. I wondered about that too as I have picked up several here. Must have been an Italian importer some years ago. The other thing I find odd is the number of Murano pieces that come out of South Australia.

Lots of good glass in S.A. All my Czech pieces and a lot of my Whitefriars pieces have come from S.A.

I notice most of the junk glass is coming out of Sydney LOL

Good God! Kane how much glass have you got? I am in trouble with just my Archimede collection. If I branched out I would need a new house or wife.
