Hi all
Ive had this piece for about 3 years and never been able to identify it.
Its a really beautiful quality little jug.
Its clear glass with a milky white exterior, It has a deep purple swirl patter with gold flecks of adventurine. The handle is part clear, part milky.
The base is slightly concave and has a snapped off pontil mark, which is smooth to touch but not ground (heat worked?)
There is a long signature/mark possible 4 words, It is almost impossible to see with the naked eye, and I am struggling to even make out a single letter.
I am completely lost with this one, part of me thinks its venetian but thats about all I can come up with. Any help would be much apreciated
Pictures to follow
many thanks

thanks Anne your a doll ;D

I suggest you try another way of photographing the signature as the underlying pattern makes it very hard to read. If you photograph it mat a shallow angle the base will appear white and the writing black - see what I mean in the 2 photos of a Gunnel Sahlin Vase I have.

It's not aventurine in it, it's real gold foil, I would suspect Italian, and high quality, but I'm a total ignoramus about Murano/Italian glass.
-
I think the first word ends in y possibly lly
The second word could be 'glass'?
and the last word on it's own reads England to me :-\
and the finish on the base looks like my Alum Bay pieces or my George Elliot piece - I'm going for English studio glass maker ;D

For a British maker, my bet would be on Mike Hunter of Twists glass, but he's not in England.

Just adding Michelle finally got a positive ID on this lovely little jug.
It is actually British and a one off piece made by Timothy Harris no less.
Putting this on here for her, Michelle cannot seem to log in to her account anymore?
-
Well that just proved me a liar haha got straight on that time.
Thanks Chris.
I've never given up on this pretty little jug, last week I re posted it and Angela page told me it was Timothy Harris, so I contacted him and this morning he has confirmed it is a little one off piece by him.
So another one solved

It is a lovely little jug Michelle, and of course, as always as soon as an identification is made, we can all see exactly what the writing says!! Well done you and Angela Page. :)

Great case of never giving up I think 😊
