Title: Mdina Glass bottle and tumblers.
Post by: adam20 on September 18, 2013, 03:00:06 PM
Here is a Mdina stoppered bottle and two matching tumblers - no marks to bases - was wondering about a date.

Thanks

Adam

My apologies for not seeing this post when it was made!
Probably around the mid-'80s.
The blue is the shade Mark Hill calls "jewell-like".

I'm not quite so sure about the tumblers being Mdina. I don't think this was a size or shape they used - they may be Phoenician, who also produced this design but in different exact proportions to the ones produced by Mdina.

I would think these tumblers are from the 90s. I guess it is some sort of product code, random codes often appear on stuff from the 1990s onwards but it wasn't something that was consistently done and no one seems to know much about them.
