Title: ID help - Chinese or bohemian?

Hello all,

Here's one that has me puzzled. It's roughly 2-1/4" diameter and the colors are what one might expect from an older Chinese weight however the sophisticated double lattice has me thinking it's maybe bohemian origin. Any thoughts?

Hi Eric,

It is indeed an old Chinese weight. I have never held one like this in my hands yet but have seen a few. I like it but cannot tell you much about it. Alan (Thornton) should be able to tell you more as he has researched Chinese weights.

Hi.

Sophie is right - it is a Chinese weight, probably a copy of the similar Bohemian design. They were made in the first half of the 20th century.  I have a near identical one - the basket is very well made.
