I am aware that this will probably be impossible to ID, but still would be interested if someone has an idea...
And I am not sure if I should have posted this in the PW section; if so, I would ask one of our lovely mods to move it there :)
Smokey green massive glass cube, edge length 7.4 cm, cut and polished sides with bevelled edges (very nicely done), one big bubble in the centre.
On one side there is an etched mark with symbols I don't recognize; might be some company's trade mark (which would make it a promotional gift I guess).
When I googled for "glass cube" I was quite surprised that nothing similar turned up, just the usual colourless modern decorative cubes.
So is this modern Chinese, or could it be older and from a different area?
Thanks for any thoughts,
Michael

Could be a coloured coating.

Thanks, Frank!
If you mean that it is colourless glass coated - then rather not. The glass itself has that smokey green tint...

This has been bugging me since you posted it Michael. I think I have seen one somewhere and for some reason I keep thinking drug company and advertising/promotion.

John, Bayer use their name in their logo set as a cross with a circle around it. Could that be what it reminds you of perhaps?
or is it the symbols?

Nope, just seen one somewhere before.

Thanks, folks! :)
Yes, I had the same feeling that the logo looked familiar...
Unfortunately hard to search for because it contains those strange symbols rather than letters.
From the style I would think probably 1990s or younger?

The symbols are weird, yet must have some meaning but tried every combination of idea and various logo searches to no avail. The odd speech bubble implies discussion but also resembles the O or 0 so possibly a conference souvenir. Clearly a failed logo as no-one gets an obvious message ;-)

Is the '8' figure actually a back to back B?
might that help?

back to Bayer. Area is right. Try mailing pics to various branches.
