Title: ID help - blossoms over cobalt mica cushion
Post by: LesBeatiques on October 04, 2013, 07:43:27 PM
Hello again,

Last one for the week ;)

The weight is roughly 2" in diameter and 1-1/4" tall. A unique design with two yellow multi-petal yellow, two 6 petaled blue and white and one central pink blossom - each with a bubble in the center. The blossoms rest over a cushion of cobalt and silver mica.

Aside from the origin/date, can anyone shed some light on the technique. Are the blossoms achieved by lampwork or are they manipulated canes?

Thanks again,
Eric

Hi Eric

I believe that this was made in Bohemia or Silesia, and is probably late 19th - early 20th century.  I think the flowers are manipulated canes, but I am not certain.
