Hello again!
I am assuming this is Chinese due to the roughly finished base, so please don't be too polite to say it is if that is what you think! It's more kingfisher in colour than the photos show. 31cm in height and approximately 13cm at the widest point.
My problem is that I have a thrift store just round the corner from me and I hate to leave empty handed ::)
Many thanks to you all.

Any chance it could be Aseda, even with that base?
-
I would strongly suspect Chinese with that base.
But there have been several Polish masterglassmakers training in China recently - the quality of the piece itself would suggest it was produced with some influence from these masters... ;)

This is an IKEA Salong vase - white version still sold : http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10119838/

I would strongly suspect Ikea get their stuff made in China.

IKEA did have glassworks in Älmhult & somewhere in Poland I don't know if that is still the case.....
-
I don't live anywhere near an ikea - I'm not really familiar with their goods, but a few years ago there were things coming in to stores like it, with LSA importing labels - much of that was good quality contemporary Polish glass - but I think China is cheaper to source from now - especially now they have the advantage of Polish teachers. ;)
It's the base finish on this that is not typical of anything from Poland. ???

Thanks to everyone. I did try and Google Ikea+terms for this vase when I got it but nothing came up. I too am a fair distance from an Ikea but not far enough! I knew from the base that it was probably not something old. Still, it looks remarkably good grouped with my Aseda vases.
Again, thanks and have a great Sunday!
