Title: Unusual Italian(??) opaque glass decanters. ID = Hadeland, Norway
Post by: Design79 on October 14, 2013, 02:05:21 PM
Hi all
Just trying to identify these amazing decanters that were part of a job lot i bought from an auction.
I'm guessing they are 50s 60s Italian (Venetian? Empoli?) but interested in any opinions please?
Did think they could even be Blenko but haven't come across them.
They are pressed in opaline glass and the green one is cased in two shades of green. They both have large ground/polished pontil marks, are 24cm high and weigh 1225g and 1425g. Stoppers are rough ground.

Very stylish and tactile pieces, whatever they are!

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

Empoli seems a good a bet to me, I used to have one in white and have since seen them in lots of colours some opaque and others transparent.

Made by Hadeland, pattern called Ridder. Here in their 1965 catalogue, page 30: https://www.matslinder.no/2016/05/14/hadeland-katalog-fra-1965/
