Here is a large glass vase with red and gilt decoration, looks 1950/60 - is it Czech?

11 inches high

Look Borske Sklo-ish to me, though other options are possible

this particular decoration isn't shown in Mark Hill's book, but I would agree with Lustrousstone - it looks very much like a contender for Borske.
With these things very few designs are attributable  -  one of the exceptions being the well known Nemo range.           Probably the only way to be certain with pieces such as this is to have a label.

I think perhaps Romania is another option, thought the date is probably about right

I was looking at Borske Sklo - I have some pieces that are in Mark Hills book - Romania is also, as said, a contender - though this is very stylish and a lot of Romanian glass is flowers with gilt.

The shape is very 50/60s as said - it looks like some Vasart I have of the same period (shape wise)

I too support Paul and Christine that this more likely to be Borkse Sklo.    I have not seen any Vasart pieces yet, that are in this shape.  Hopefully someone else, if not convinced, will be able to confirm this.

It's definitely not Vasart Otis. That is all totally different. This is a large-scale factory production item.

I think Adam was just using the datable Vasart shape to suggest a similar date for the gold banded vase ..........  I'm sure he wasn't saying the goldy thing was Vasart................Adam does say only - shape wise :)

I have seen vases like this with Crystal Arcadia Made in Czechoslovakia foil labels.

Thanks - I was as said only comparing the shape, especially that ringed base, but then again it's a lot like Deco Beswick as well - It's very jazzy and loose, it was very cheap so .....
