Title: help to id this paperweight
Post by: loren on October 29, 2013, 02:33:19 AM
Hi, I am trying to identify this paperweight. I feels "French" to me, but it might be Murano.
It seems to have some age to it. The most intriguing element to the piece is the acid etched partial circle on the base. Might be Baccarat or Clichy?
Thanks so much! I am new to the site...  -Loren

Welcome to the board. We also need to see the weight from the side and the top. The partly etched circle is just the remnants of the pontil mark

 Hi Loren

This is a Murano crown weight maybe 1950's, very hard to say which factory though.

Many thanks, Christine. I've never seen a pontil remnant like the one on this paperweight. This one looks too perfect and is a bit off center. You are most probably right, though.  http://www.rubylane.com/shop/cypressstudio
