Title: Possible Whitefriars cut glass vase
Post by: smithy146 on October 31, 2013, 12:06:25 PM
Hi Folks,
I have recently found this vase and I think I might have something special here.It bears all the characteristics of a Whitefriars art-deco cut piece-possibly designed by William Wilson or James Hogan and cut by Albert Tubby. It looks to be sapphire blue and features mult-cut lenses and engraved wavy lines and of course the usual polished pontil.

Has anyone got any thoughts? Best wishes.

Welcome to the board. We need a picture of the whole vase and a base shot to help. Dimensions would be good too. Is it lead cyrstal?

Yes of course-a little more detail would help! The height is 8 inches and the maximum diameter is 8 inches. The shape could be described as a goldfish bowl on a footed base! Please see some extra pictures as well.It rings really well and I would describe it as lead crystal. Thanks a lot.
