Title: Hurdal Glasverk 1780 -1800 Klunkeflaske
Post by: flying free on October 31, 2013, 05:20:59 PM
I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one :)
Superb glass to look at, dark grey with a slight blue tinge, very dirty with stones, bubbles etc.  Like looking through a very old window.
Large in size 22.5cm with each side of the square base 8cm.
Applied glass string just below rim, short neck.
Very indented pontil mark, snapped off rough.
I'll add some close up pics in the next post.

more pics

There are some in the Drammens Museum which houses the Nøstetangen collection  (scroll across and the pictures will come up.  They are on the far wall and there are three or four different coloured Klunkeflaske )

Thanks -  I was very pleased to come across it.  It's a lovely colour as well.  I'm not overly keen on clear glass even though I love my other one :)
