Hi Folks,
Looking for some confirmation that this is indeed Strathearn..
Thanks for your help.

Hi.
I understand why you suggest Strathearn, but I think it is actually an early Perthshire, pre-1978 example. You don't specify the size, but either a PP1 or PP2 depending upon diameter.

Hi Alan,
It's about 3" in diameter.
Thanks for your help.

PP1, PP2 is 2.5 inches, PP1 3 inches.
Sell very well these days.

Thanks for the info but I read that pp1 weights have 12/13 spokes. My one is short of this.
Spokes, I meant to say spirals

Hi Jess
The number of spokes depends upon when they were made. Early ones had quite a range of numbers of spokes (I think from 8 to 17).
I think that the useful message from this - to you and many others - is don't believe everything you read, without considering it might not be the whole story, or might be out of date, or incorrect (especially from books written 30 years or more ago)! It is a common problem that collectors (both new and experienced) read just one source of information - sometimes from the 1960s -and believe that what they read is the definitive text.
