Title: Can you help me ID this large glass shell?
Post by: heather1953 on November 09, 2013, 12:57:55 PM
Can anyone help me identify this large heavy glass shell? maybe its age and where it was made? I have owned this for a while but never knew anything about it. Thank you for any ideas:)

I tend to agree with the Chinese provenance,  but having said that,  I am beginning to think that we may have to stop thinking that Chinese glass is less desirable than Murano (as long as it is honestly labelled) because if you look at this piece it is clear-cased as well as having a two layer internal structure of both the brown and the white.  The spiral is realistic and very nicely crafted.... It looks a lovely display piece in my opinion.

i agree rosie
looking at the glass in tk max i ask myself how much would they be worth if it was murano ect.
they used to have a very nice jelly fish paperweight for under £10
