There is no makers mark or signature on this fine paperweight. Is it by John Ditchfield or are their others who made similar?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Possibly Okra? Sure my Dad will turn up and say yes/no at some point.

Hi Zidori.
Sorry, but I don't think it's a Ditchfield. It's not a design I recognise. And I would expect to see some form of signature or a Glasform label if it was.
Nor do I think it's an Okra weight.
This sort of weight is made by quite a large number of makers, and it will be difficult to tie down to a particular one. Sorry, but cannot be more helpful. Where did you find it? Might help to identify.

Thanks all for your input.
It was among a group of Strathearn weights (millefiori and abstract) which I picked up recently at an on-line auction. I'll post a better picture tomorrow as I had to use flash to get this one and it doesn't show the true colours.

Hello Ronnie.
I'm assuming it's you who has listed this weight on ebay as Okra. For my own education, I'd be very interested in knowing what led you to say that.
Thanks

Keith - I have sent you an e-mail.

Why does such information have to be private on a public board? Can the rest of us not know what it is and why? We might want to bid on it

I was just wondering the same thing. Who made it? It's really pretty.

Hi ,
Is this what you are looking for Christine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Beautiful-Okra-Iridescent-Paperweight-/301014393555?pt=UK_Art_Glass&hash=item4615db22d3

I have been informed that it is 99.9% likely to be Okra if the base is concave - which it is.

Christine - I was merely putting a message through to Keith as it appeared I was dismissing his input to my thread. It had no public interest and I was conscious that this section is not to be used to promote the selling of items, having listed the paperweight for sale.
