Title: Sommerso vase with tiny signature? Or interesting scratch?
Post by: Joscyn on November 30, 2013, 01:32:14 PM
Dear list,
Could anyone let me know if this pinky-coloured scratch is a signature they recognise on one of the pulled sections, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?  The vase is 25cm high with a polished base and is a swirled blue submerged in light green then clear.  Ivo?  Christine?  :-)
Thanks in anticipation.

Scratch IMHO. Looks rather tiny to be a sig. and in a rather strange place.

Thanks, David.  I know the signatures can be tiny on some of these and, as I looked more, I thought it must be a scratch.  Any idea of the maker?  I can never tell the Scandinavian from the Czech from the Italian (or Chinese!) with things like this.

I do sometimes wonder if marks like that might read "Edinburgh"

but it doesn't look like a bit of Edinburugh Crystal at all.

I agree with David - it's just age-related wear.
