This one has been haunting me.  Does anyone know who made it?  Ysart?

I missed that one - because my eBay searches are too specific. Pity! I would have liked to have been able to study it in detail.

Many canes that are different to ones I know. Also ... a lamp-worked flower in the mix of bits and pieces!

The Heart cane is one of the four "Suit of Playing Cards" canes, said to be "Vasart" (at least as early as the Ysart Brothers years). At least one of the other canes is known to me in one of my Ysart Brothers weights and I suspect all the others are from that period, too.

I think the weight was probably made by Salavador Ysart during the Ysart Brothers period.

Shame there was no photo of the base.

Hmmm, yes, some of those may have fooled me!

I am not familiar with Gooderham millefiori, but I can now see that there are more differences than similarities when compared to early Ysart.

Hi all

If you use the magnifier on the E-bay auction page to look at the complex cane at around 2 o'clock from the heart   there is one element of the garland at about 4 o'clock that is a yellow "J" cane - John Gooderham

Well spotted Derek.

Even with my specs on, I missed that. But I would not have recognized it as a Gooderham "J" even if I had seen it and even though I have studied Andy D's book on Signature Canes!!

I thought it was just a flaw in the cane.  :-[
