Title: Pierre Siguaretto fish - ID = Silvano Signoretto
Post by: LouisXIV on December 08, 2013, 07:36:30 PM
I've got this stunning fish made by Pierre Siguaretto, as signed on the bottom. I only found another fish on the internet sold by liveauctioneers. The only thing I know is that he's Italian, but that's it. Does anybody got more info about the maker? And maybe some other pieces to show here?

Could we see a picture of the signature. I've heard often of Pino Signoretto, but never Pierre Siguaretto. I haven't seen the fish before, but I have a feeling the signature is Pino.

You could be right... It wasn't easy for me to find out so I started a search on the web and the first thing I found was a blue fish... So I thought the name was ok...

Here are a few picures. :)

It is indeed Pino Signoretto, I found his signature and it's the same. He's amazing! So many beautifull things!

For the record, the fish you see is 33 cm high.

I bought him a half year ago.

LouisXIV, yours is not Pino. I think it may be Silvano Signoretto. Does anyone else know for sure. Silvano signs his pieces with an S Signoretto. I'll see if I can find his signature. It would make sense, because your fish didn't strike as Pino's style.

Added: Here is two examples:

I think we can pretty safely say Silvano Signoretto.

I know nothing really about this type of glass but I don't suppose the signature might read 'Pino Signoretto'?
I would really help to see a clear picture of the signature.

Looking up this one apparently signed Pierre Siguaretto I think it might also read Pino Signoretto?

I hope I'm not leading you up the garden path as I could be totally wrong  :-\

Idd, I"m sure you're right, the writing is the same. I took the liberty to copy the photo of the other signature, I hope that's ok.

I also found it a complete different style and writing, so I was thinking an early period or so. But Silvano Signoretto makes more sense. ;)

It is Silvano Signoretto, m. The conversation evolved after the initial post.

I've merged the topics from both forums, and will now amend the subject also to complete it. :)

Hi Anita
thanks :) yes I saw a duplicate of this thread on the Murano forum with your id after I'd posted on this thread,  and so asked the mods to delete the topic as it was repeated (Thanks Anne).
