Title: Bark textured mould blown vase - ID = Ingrid Glass
Post by: bfg on December 10, 2013, 10:50:15 PM
Spent many hours going round in circles with this, including the many threads on textured vases through the search function on here

It's large, clunky chunky and heavy. Not cased as far as I can tell but all the same it has a certain something about it.

Does anyone recognise it please?

thanks, Mel

Hi John

thanks for the reply, yes I had initially thought Ingrid too but as it's not cased I thought perhaps I was wrong - trouble is I can't find anything comparable at the moment.

The nearest I've got is a matching one in flint on etsy and they've tentatively suggested Iittala as an attribution which I can't back up either

I prefer to get a primary source for attribution so it remains anonymous for now

Mel

Edited to add: the colour & neckline detail and lack of casing is leaning me towards Ravenhead  ::) any thoughts?

it looks vry much like the Ingrid vases which we find everywhere in milk glass - so not cased. I have no qualms in declaring this Ingrid too.

And me three for Ingrid Glass.
I recognise the actual texture. It's quite distinctive.

Excellent! thank you Ivo and Sue for seconding & thirding John's initial ID

I'd take Ingrid glass over poor old Ravenhead any day

Sue, do you have any pics of the texture on your pieces please?

Mel

No, sorry, Mel, I don't have any.

I used to see a lot of very large pieces in neodynium glass. I'm not overly fond of neodynium, and very large lumps of textured stuff in this colour caused me to have an emotional reaction... but more of a "eeeeek" than a "yum".

But it stuck. :-[

the one on the right is a taller version of your Ingrid glass.

The texture shows up really well in the milk glass.  :)

I don't see that colour over here. Just clear and neodynium, (with the odd blue, as in Mel's.)

thanks for the pics Ivo

I've not seen Ingrid milk glass before but I think that pretty much seals it with the texture pattern  ;D

I'd like to see one of these in neodymium glass as well as my odd blue its just the clear that does nothing for me

takes all sorts  :-*

It's a really, really big, BOLD texture, isn't it?
Would you want to own a neodynium bit, or just see one, Mel?

(as in, should I grab a bit for you next time I see one?)

bless you Sue, I would settle for a pic unless you come across a real bargain on your travels x

 ;D
I'll see what I can do. It will probably now elude me for years.
