Hi there:
Just got found this today at a second hand store, for very little. I know it is KOSTA BODA as it is signed. Not sure about the other writing on it. Has a number with it too. It has a really, really nice iridescent gloss to it. Not sure if that shows up in the pics.
~ About 5.5 inches tall
~ About 6 inches long
~ About 4.5 inches Wide.
Any help is appreciated. It is very STRIKING!!!
Thanks ;)

4 = Vase
85 = 1985 the year designed
33 = the 33rd vase for the year presumably.

Thank you so much both MEL and ROSS :-* :-*
What is exactly meant by "Artist Collection" ? Is this a specialty item?
Also, when you say:
4 = Vase
85 = 1985 the year designed
33 = the 33rd vase for the year presumably.
Ross
That this is only the 33rd vase made, or the 33rd style made for that year ?? I am Not that knowledgeable about Kosta Boda as this is only my 2nd signed piece by them.
Good thing I knew it was Kosta Boda (via the messy signature) as I got it for a good price, I think ;D as that was CAD dollars...LOL

found the thread from mine last year with a bit more detail on it

its the reason I bought my big kosta book :)
I'd agree with the 4 & 85 but the 33 in the book seems to relate to this particular colour combination?
for example 48532 is pink and 48531 is green
hope it helps

No I meant the 33rd design for a vase. I can't honestly imagine 33 colour combinations!
The Artist Collection is "Part of the Main Collection, these pieces are a little more adventurous, more avant-garde. This is fantasy glass, creqted by Bertil Vallien and Ulrica Hydman-Vallien. It is spun for nature images, earth textures, sunset colors. And it is a collection that can only improve with age." [ The Kosta Boda Book of Glass Pg.281 ]
Hmmm! Sounds like it was written by an art critic who got confused at the end with his wine critiques.
