any help with this paperweight would be greatful.
thought it might be a pilkington but the base is flat and looks like it had a sticker but no writing on. could it be bohemian

The base doesn't preclude Pilkington IMHO but beyond that...

it reminds me of an early Belgium weight i had but that had a rough pontil as well

When we were in Brussels last weekend I saw a number of broadly similar pieces with names or initials in coloured glass, set above a frit ground, sometimes with additional decoration. One or two were obviously old pieces with poorer quality glass, remains of the pontil mark, and rather dull colours. Others looked like they came out of the kiln yesterday. I think this style has been in more or less continuous production in various parts of Europe for a century or more.
Most of the Pilkingtons weights I have seen have had glass with a distinct blue-green tinge, or were crystal clear. I suspect this example is Belgian / Alsace / Czech in origin.
