Title: Any ideas about this 'wonky' concentric millefiori weight please?
Post by: johnfandmaryp on December 16, 2013, 06:34:20 PM
Hi Guys,

I got this domed weight in a mixed lot at auction recently and, before deciding what to do with it (keep it or put it on eBay?), would appreciate help in an ID for it. As you'll see in the pictures, the central canes are a bit 'wonky'! It's about 3 1/4" in diameter and has an irregularly shaped polished pontil mark. As always, any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in anticipation, John

Hi John

It is a 'low dome' Arculus paperweight, dating to the 1920s - 1930s - fairly typical of their quality!

Thank you so much Alan. I wondered if it might be an older English weight, so it's great to have it confirmed ~ maybe I'm starting to learn a bit!
Many thanks again, and Happy Christmas!!
Cheers, John.
