Title: ID please, huge doorstop weight, possibly Bohemian?
Post by: pooleandpaperweights on January 01, 2014, 03:25:52 PM
Hi all

Been to the fair at Dunstable today and came away with lots of things, amongst them was this.  Thought Bohemian but the flat base makes me question that.

Any ideas?

thanks
Ian

Hi Ian.

I have seen / owned smaller versions of this paperweight, with the chalky flowers, and assumed it was 'Bohemian' in the sense of Czechoslovakia, first half 20th century (I think Czechoslovakia gained independence in 1918). Hence I expected a flat base.  I would go with your original attribution.
