Hi there was doing some research the other night and found an odd wine glass I had in a box in the whitefriars book on page 105 plat 36 needless to say I was shocked so I thought I should share it on here

yes, very desireable glass, thanks for sharing, although Jackson's book description seems a little difficult to relate to the piece  -  perhaps I'm not reading it properly.

HI Paul the picture in to book has a slightly dif bowl but the stem is the same sorry for the confusion

Hi flying free the stem is twisted sea green the bowl is deep amethyst with the odd Bit of white trailed in it and Gold foil speckled throughout ant the bowl is textured and it's a delight to hold  :)

Tbf I can't now I know what it is lol but I'm a dealer and I can't keep it all (or affordto) and I'm sure there's a good home out there 4 it I'm just happy to of bin the owner/finder of such a lovely thing

I think the word implies a little more than just something that is a whopper  -  as obviously in this case size isn't the overiding feature.
I'd suggest that 'impressive' in all senses is perhaps a better description...........  it's rare, it's beautiful, it's valuable, has a first class pedigree/designer, and to boot it's a real antique.

You get the drift Carolyn...........something that comes up suddently and is very impressive  -  a real whopper ;) ;)

I believe its something like yeah i wanit , i know the top dealers and collectors are making room in their cabinets , some a long way from home .  Stonker opposite to stinker . Happy Noo Year  .

No I have never sold anything to the USA................  Never needed to !

If you are referring to my sister in North Carolina I have been bringing some of my collection home...........

Didnt you send it there in the first place ? so are you saying collectors and museums should only have glass from the home country , that sounds a tad boring .  ;D
