yes, very desireable glass, thanks for sharing, although Jackson's book description seems a little difficult to relate to the piece - perhaps I'm not reading it properly.
-
HI Paul the picture in to book has a slightly dif bowl but the stem is the same sorry for the confusion
Hi flying free the stem is twisted sea green the bowl is deep amethyst with the odd Bit of white trailed in it and Gold foil speckled throughout ant the bowl is textured and it's a delight to hold :)
-
Oh and thanks John it is indeed a stonker one I'll be sad to part with when I sell it
-
thanks - but how can you bear to part with such a great piece ;D ;D
-
Tbf I can't now I know what it is lol but I'm a dealer and I can't keep it all (or affordto) and I'm sure there's a good home out there 4 it I'm just happy to of bin the owner/finder of such a lovely thing
-
Could somebody define Stonker for us colonials?
Carolyn
-
Lol no problem stonker=whopper think that's what u guys over the pond say lol
-
I think the word implies a little more than just something that is a whopper - as obviously in this case size isn't the overiding feature.
I'd suggest that 'impressive' in all senses is perhaps a better description........... it's rare, it's beautiful, it's valuable, has a first class pedigree/designer, and to boot it's a real antique.
You get the drift Carolyn...........something that comes up suddently and is very impressive - a real whopper ;) ;)
-
I believe its something like yeah i wanit , i know the top dealers and collectors are making room in their cabinets , some a long way from home . Stonker opposite to stinker . Happy Noo Year .
-
and a Happy Noo Year to you jp - funny tho........... I thought you'd gone :-\ ;) ;)

No I have never sold anything to the USA................ Never needed to !
If you are referring to my sister in North Carolina I have been bringing some of my collection home...........

Patrick.

Didnt you send it there in the first place ? so are you saying collectors and museums should only have glass from the home country , that sounds a tad boring . ;D
