Hi, I picked this up in a very unusual cafe/Junk shop. Great coffee, bad food. It is approx 11cm high.
My eyes are a bit strange on some colours but it looks to have a faint blue tint with clear and amber colours. Looks more Rabbit than a lot of the other rabbits. IMO it is well made. Any clues as to maker etc ? The pictures don't show the detail very well. Will try to take better ones.

Hello there this looks like a piece of Beckhurst art glass, Eastbourne Pier, the eye and the ears, i have three or four similar pieces but there in storage the only one i have that survived the clear out is this one, i might be completely off track but have a look on google, regards Chris.

Hi Pete, I don't think your rabbit is lampwork, but the legs and arms (?) are unusually formed.
This is the nearest I have found so far:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-MURANO-GLASS-BUNNY-RABBIT-x-2-ANIMALS-/350815920391
It is a completed tem on ebay and says 'Murano?'
Not sure if ir is, but nicely detailed and at just ober 4", is a nice colectable size.
Rosie. :)

With ears like that isn't it a ahre?

I thought it was rather harey too, Ross. :)

A lot of glass rabbits have exaggerated ears.... I have several and most of them appear disproportionally long.

Sorry for late reply. I was using my uv torch last night near the Rabbit and it turned Lilac/Purple (my eyes get colours confused) and has a bluish tint in Sunlight. Is this Neodymium/Alexandrite ? The 'Murano' one has similarities but not as well made and no added eyes and as we well know 'Murano' glass is made in several countries according to ebay :-) I have not found anything yet, not even the one you found Rosie !, and will keep looking. Thanks all for the input.
Amended to add....The eyes are a dark Purple/Aubergine colour not Black.

Hi Pete, yes it sounds as though he is neodymium, and I am beginning to think he may well be Murano... but I will keep looking for you.
It is easier to check for neodymium glass by taking the glass from neon or energy saving bulb lit areas where it will appear blue, into ordinary bulb lit areas or daylight where it will be pinky/purple.
The uv torch is really useful for establishing that something is made from uranium glass.
Anyway, on with the hunt... see what else I can find........ :)

UV light doesn't have any effect on neodymium glass.

I was using it on another piece near it and noticed it. I didn't see the eyes were not black either ??? A Smokey dolphin I found turned out to be a green cased in clear. My eyes only seem to work in the summer !!! I have seen some Nason animals that have similar characteristics. It's a place to look....in the morning. ;D thanks all.
