Title: The glass room has glass in it #1
Post by: ahremck on January 07, 2014, 02:35:20 PM
Well as some of you know I have a new home including a glass room.

The first picture is my Xmas present to myself - a magnificent Colin Heaney "sea" vase
The second is it with some of the room in the back ground.
The third is a very poor photo of the "Venetian/Murano" cabinet - I am afraid technology refuses to transfer from my iPad to my desktop despite all the others going peacefully.

I stress that thing have been stuck in willy nilly and there may be "blow ins" you can spot.

There are two other posts to follow

Picture #2 - Mainly Japanese - top shelf is not and there are those "mud" things - from Japan scattered.
Picture #3 - Finnish glass.

When I get a little more time I will set them up properly and post to themed glass.

Happy New Year to you all!

How wonderful to finally get all your glass out and into the display cases - it must have been like having lots of new glass all over again :)
And exciting to get to display all the pieces you want together.

Love to see some pics of the room from a wide angle to see the effect.

m
p.s. you have a huge collection of glass  :o  I thought mine was bad.

Hello Ross,  how lovely to see all your glass out of their boxes and in their new home... You must have spent ages deciding where to put each piece.... I love it all and I wish you many happy hours sitting just admiring and enjoying it after all the hard work that has gone into this project... Perfect!
What a great start to 2014 for you. :)

Hi Ross, I was unable to comment yesterday... well, not so much unable as unfit.

Your new Colin Heaney overshadowed everything else - I was overcome with a paroxysm of jealous envy, which has only abated slightly today, and then only because I haven't dared enlarge the pics again...

 :P :P :P You've spoiled my new year already!

(  ;) not really, I'm actually delighted you have such a treasure. You deserve such treasures. They will be enjoyed and looked after and appreciated the way they ought to be. 8) )

How lovely Ross - great to see it coming together. I'll have to book an appointment to view          when I go to Melbourne next ;D

I'd love to see all my glass out at once - I never have!

When the kids leave home and I have space and time.........

Good to see the Cenedese doves in pride of place in the Murano cabinet too!  - I visited Murano and Cenedese last August - fabulous!
regards

Just remember Jackie it all has to be out when I get to Helena Valley - your taste seems similar to mine.  I now live in Warragul - an easy train ride or I would be happy to pick you up and drop you back from Melbourne.

Part of the fun now is to decide what the first 'proper' display will be.  I suspect I would like to do a paperweight display.

No worries Ross !  My space is getting closer! Spent yesterday viewing houses for sale with my son. He's about to fly the nest. Daughter is building though. I have her for another year at least. Mixed feelings about them moving out 😥. I've been lucky to have them this long.

I have never seen all of my glass displayed at once. I look forward to trying it !

Well done with your room. It's fabulous !

Jackie.
