-
Utterly lovely, Gary - it is irridescent, isn't it?
And is the vase just a little bit wonky... or was that you and the camera being wonky at new year? ;)
-
lol yes it is and no its not wonky it was the angle I took it from lol, il do a better one tomorrow lol, dates from around 20s
-
I acquired a "serious" bit of Monart recently. It's worrying. I now have 3 bits of Monart. :-\
This, my lovley pale and purple bubbly bowl and a (real, but boring) miniature.
(It is also damaged - a crack running down from the rim and a big dingy crack in it's circumference, but I only paid £20 for it. I wouldn't have paid the full price and it still displays beautifully. ;D)
-
nice, seen it in Abernyte , been there for a long time , I have the same shape in blue and black with gold adventurine
-
heres mines sue
-
I don't believe it was the (overpriced :o ) one in Abernyte - unless it got damaged in Abernyte and so got shifted. ???
I bought it in Rait.
It's a wonderful and subtle colourway - combed bit with swirls, (not just two colours :P ), the aventurine is very, very gold coloured, and it's got lovely yellow streaks in it, and an applied surface decorated foot. ;D
(and a great crack and cracky ding... :-[ )
-
the one in Abernyte was damaged aswell im sure that is it
-
It wasn't £20 in Abernyte, Gary! ;D
It had been there for years - along with a matching charger, and it isn't there now. (neither is the charger - but things often shift between Abernyte and Doune - they're owned by the same folk.)
He still wants £95 for that small "jigsawed" multicoloured bowl that was with them.
I'm not really bothered where it came from - it was a bargain and it's mine.
As I said, it displays really well. 8)
Are you not more worried that I am now, officially, a Monart collector? I have 3 bits now... ;)
-
lol lol lol no im not bothered you carry on collecting Monart itl save me some cash if your buying lol, the one was still in Abernyte about a month ago maybe less
-
I've not seen it in Abernyte for a wee while - and I've been a couple of times within the last month.
It's not the most common of shapes or colourways though, is it?
Most likely it is the same one, plus a disaster (which made it affordable for me) at some point recently.
Who knows what dealers get up to, in their own circles? ;)
ps. I don't think you really need to worrying about me being in competition with you. ::)
-
lol am not worried hahaha, yeah it has to be the same one it was in there for around a year and was always damaged from the time it appeared, defo not a common shape so a good little purchase

Sorry to change the subject - but I came across a query ( ~2011) about Ann Fleming's perfume bottles. I've got some pictures of these somewhere, as I used to make blanks for her.

Hello bobtheslob and welcome to the gmb! :)
We'd love to see the pictures you have.
There is a whole load of information and technical tips on how to post images here:
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,22.0.html
You'll need to find the correct set for the systems you have.
Then just post them in the Glass forum, as a new topic.
Looking forward to seeing them!
it's not wonky any more, Gary, just lovely. ;D

A real good find there Gary.
Could you email or post a photo here of the label, which would help me in my research.
