This has me baffled. It is clearly marked DING ZHOV and then CHAN but I can't find anything. It's not uranium glass and it's nicely blow moulded rather than pressed (I can feel the pattern on the inside). 17 cm diameter

It's an interesting piece, especially the marks. It could well be Chinese but Other than "Made in China" type marks, I'd expect Chinese glass to be marked with Hanzi (Chinese Characters). I'm wondering if maybe it was made for a Chinese business overseas, maybe a restaurant ashtray or promotional gift? In this case it could have been made anywhere, but hopefully somebody will recognise the pattern.
I'm guessing it should read Ding Zhou Chan (zhov makes no sense). Without characters (or even tone marks) these could mean almost anything, though my guess is that they are a person's name (or names). Both Ding and Zhou are common Chinese surnames. 'Chan' is also how the surname 成 is sometimes written by people from Hong Kong.
Datewise should be no earlier than late 1950s as other than 'Chan' the romaisation appears to be (loosely) pinyin. I'm afraid I've got nothing more to add. I'll have a look at my modest Chinese pressed glass collection though and see if I can find any similar patterns.

there is a dingzhou glass company in china . but your piece looks like ding zhov could not find anything under that

I think Stew's on to something here. Dingzhou is a town in Hebei province and I suspect there are several producers in that area. Chan could be 产 which relates to production and is often used in the word 产品 (Chan Pin) meaning products.

That makes sense, thank you. The design strikes me as very like some of the Sklo Union products so my thinking datewise was 1950s-1970s
