Title: Perthshire paperweight ID

Hi All,

Does anyone know the ID/PP number & edition size of this Perthshire Paperweight from 2001, my Mahoney/McClanahan guide stops before this date.

Its dated 2001 and scratch numbered 224 so presumably was a limited edition. It's small at 44mm - 2 7/8".

Is there any information published on these later weights anywhere?

Hi Nick,
I am sure someone will reply soon with the PP number but I have loads of Perthshire catalogues up in my loft and I definitely have 2001 so if all else fails I will go and dig it out for you

Thanks for that, if no one comes up with an ID that would be great. I've been keeping an eye out for their old catalogues but haven't seen any around so far.

I would say this is a PP226 - though the catalogue image has a different central cane. Unfortunately the Selman catalogue (I don't have the original Perthshire catalogue 2001) doesn't state the edition size.

There is an image on worthpoint (http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/perthshire-paperweight-millefiori-168819177) (taken from ebay) ... pretty much same central cane - though with a different (blue dominated) background (catalogue image with red background like yours). Worthpoint states an edition size of 350.

Hi Nick and everyone,
                                  while this doesn't give all the info. up to the closure of Perthshire in 2002, the annual and Christmas weights for 1998 and 1999 can be found described in "Paperweights from Great Britain" along with edition sizes and original prices.

Thanks all for the replies, it does look to be the PP226 Wuff although with the centre cane different as you say, but this was not unusual.

Sorry Wuff you were only half right here as the PP226 is a miniature weight but Nick has the full size PP227 version. Picture of the page from the Perthshire 2001 catalogue attached Nick and I hope this helps

Well - not easy to be sure from the low resolution image (forced by the board's size limitation) ... so I would very much appreciate if you could mail me high resolution scans of the entire catalogue, whilst at hand ::).

I'm not sure, however, it is a PP227 (leave size aside for the time being): Nick's weight looks different to the one in the Selman catalogue - and different to the one for sale by weights-n-things (http://www.weights-n-things.com/de/moderne-paperweights/europa/perthshire-pp-programm/pp227-2001-ed-200.html) ... and PP227 is supposed to be limited to 200, whilst Nick's weight is numbered 224.

Ummm, whoops sorry just realised I put 44mm which it is, but 2 7/8" which it isn't, 44mm is actually 1 5/8".

So it is a miniature, which just seems to confuse things still, as it still doesn't exactly match either but does seem more likely to be PP226 with a different centre cane?

Well - P226 is supposed to be a miniature (1 3/4") - which IMHO is within the tolerance.
