Title: Pinchbeck paperweight ID

Hi,
I have found this weight in a local dealer, (sorry for the pictures,  were taken with the phone) Could it be made in the mid-nineteenth century? British, French?
Any information is appreciated.

I think it has all the characteristics of being made in the 19th century (circa 1850). Perhaps most, though, were not faceted.
