This vase was described as Loetz.
Have researched and only found similar colors in Kralik,
but no similar shape.
There is a silver rim around the top.
Purchased at an antique store in USA South Carolina.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated,
Tony

Would really like verification, or at least an opinion, by one of the experts on this site "Glass Message Board".
I do not put a lot of trust on some Ebay sellers descriptions.
-
have you checked the Kralik-glass.com site?
there are many vases on there :)

Yes, that was my first stop...What I found was one example "Burgundy Swirl on Gold" that did match color, but nothing that matched shape or with a silver band.

Well that seems to me to be a match for the decor :)
Is there nothing on any other of the decors to match the shape? If not, hopefully Craig will look in and be able to help further on the shape for you.

I went through the site pretty well, though I could have missed it, for these old eyes are not what they used to be.
Thank you for your help thus far.

No problem - as I say hopefully Craig will see the thread and be able to comment on the shape but that looks like a definite decor match to me.

The piece appears to me to be Kralik. As far as shape goes, they likely had a huge number of shapes. Nice example....
-
Does this need to be moved (Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, & Austria glass)?
-
Hi Tony,
If we can say for certain that the piece was made by Loetz or Kralik (or maybe even another maker) then the thread can be moved as a resolved query.
But with only a "probably" or a "looks like" for an ID, the thread should remain in the general Glass section.
-
I should have been more assertive.... :-)
This is a piece of production by Kralik.

Thanks Craig...

Perhaps but an acknowledgement of their help on ebay would be appreciated http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,23766.0.html

I may not quite understand your comment, but I did not put my vase on ebay it was one I had seen while searching for mine.
Of all the glass I've collected only one piece has been listed for sell...it did not sell and I was glad to have kept it. ;)

You're right. I apologise. It popped up randomly yesterday when I was looking at ebay, so I jumped to conclusions
