This is a pretty, simple, paperweight.
I had made the definition in my mind that it was most likely an American studio artist piece, but as I keep trying to decipher the signature, it occurs to me that it might not be in english, lol.
The piece is, as you can see, a dome shape, but the top, while rounded, is a bit taller than a standard dome. I would almost say it comes to a rounded point. It features a lovely diffuse gold ball interior with the dramatic very wide dark purple perimeter stripe.
It doesn't feel heavy enough to be lead crystal, otherwise I would be tending towards Swedish.
Weighs1 pound 1 ounce. Measures 3 1/8" across bottom, and 1 3/4" high.
Any guesses?
