Title: Powder Blue Holmegaard? Tall footed cased vase with white lining
Post by: somethingloved on February 03, 2014, 07:03:53 PM
Hi Again,

I thought I'd throw these two at your knowledgeable minds at the GMB.

These Cased Blue and white vases are simply gorgeous boasting 60/70's curves I feel, Holmegaard? very Similar colour to Michael Bangs, Carnaby, Palet ect.

Elegantly tall at 13.5 inchs and very heavy at 900g. both vases are slightly different sizes.

The base has a polish concaved pontil mark, bubbles in the foot and no join to vase, The bottom of the vase starts off as a dark blue and then the white lightens the tone. tapering to an teardrop vase and going on to the elegant neck. The lip has been folded over, so the join between blue and white is nearly invisible.

I ve tried to explain as best I can, Hate writing much prefer pictures.
so here they are..

Thanks

not my area, but it seems that Orrefors did produce similar rims and feet, with a cased colour over white  - perhaps c. 1990's  -  worth investigating perhaps :)

Bingo.. Strangely I thought the same, I had a gander in Fire and sea by Leslie Pina after writing the initial post and on  P36 and the 3rd picture along is an Orrefors cased vase in a green. The foot and lip look unbelievable similar, mine have that quality feel about it if you know what I mean.

Also did Orrefors use 100% lead crystal?

wonder if anyone knew the name of the range back in the 90's?
