Title: Help ID Please-Yellow White Cased Glass Bowl
Post by: GalleryAnderson on February 09, 2014, 05:10:59 PM
Hello, This is my first post. I have this yellow and white cased glass bowl with a hole in the bottom. There is no signature. It measures 13.5" x 5.25" high. White portion around rim is polished. Thank you.

Looks like a 1970's light fitting/lampshade, how deep is the bowl?.

HI, I'm pretty sure it is a bowl, though it does look like a lampshade. If it were a lampshade there would have to be another hole, I think. The depth of the interior of the bowl is about 2".

I've seen a few fairly recent studio pieces like this. A sphere of of glass is blown, the, one side pushed in to create the shape.  I.d expect it to be signed, though.

Could it be a stand?

The hole looks like it should have something stuck in it, i agree looks like a stand of some sort.
