I'm not at all sure my description does this piece justice, but to my eye this blue blown bowl has a crackle like effect on the outside with gold? aventurine? like surface on the raised parts. The inside is smooth with a convex shape/bump on the base of the inside It has a fairly roughly cut off pontil mark (some sharp edges) and signs of wear on the base. I bought it thinking it might be Murano but what do I know.
It is 10" in diameter (25 cm) and weighs almost 1.5 kg.
Any pointers towards an ID gratefully received.

With the gold leaf it might be from Isle of Wight Studio Glass but only a guess.

Thanks for that John, I have one piece of Azurene and it has a much more delicate feel than this one and I'm not sure they'd leave a rough pontil mark, unless it was an early piece. I'll do a bit of ferreting and see I can find.

If it is IoW it won't be early but made in the last few years before they closed, part of the crizzle range.

Aaah. I hadn't come across this crizzle range before and I can see the resemblance. So far the bowls I can see on Google all have a small lip, which mine hasn't, but I'll keep looking. Thanks again, Iain
