Title: Red carafe vase - id help please
Post by: bfg on February 13, 2014, 04:43:10 PM

should know this, its sort of at the back of my mind and refusing to come forward  ::)

not cased, an absolutely stonking red. Ground & polished pontil with a circle of wear. Stylised fruit with two leaves on the applied lozenge. Also has it's own eco-system at the base I'm working on it!

Ht: 8 inches, 20cm and this top is wonky,

any pointers gratefully received

Mel

Biological laundry liquid will deal with your unwanted eco-system.
(Just don't let it get anywhere near your skin or clothes!)

I'm not sure about your carafe, but I have a little voice saying "Dartington?" in my tummy.

Standard Italian restaurant wine decanter comes in 1/4 1/2 and 1/1 liter. Made by each and every Italian glassworks in green and blue - red is much rarer.

thanks Ivo, maybe that's where I saw them then, was obviously too busy swigging the contents and eating pizza to pay close enough attention.

Yes, Sue, I tried my Dartington book and the H20 carafe was similar but not. Thanks for the tip on cleaning it  :)
