Title: Help with decanter and glasses pls.
Post by: WhatHo! on February 14, 2014, 03:17:54 PM
Hi Guys, I have had this set for awhile, originally purchasing as I thought it was Whitefriars. Both the glasses and the decanter have twisted stems and the decanter has a twisted stopper. It is in a pale blue colour. The feet have got a step and both have ground and polished pontils.
It looks to be of good quality, any ideas? TIA Wolfie

this twist in the stem and stopper seems to have been a feature used by Leerdam in the 1950's  -  does anyone think that factory is a possibility?

Hi, I have bumped into this decanter in 'Glass of the 20s and 30s' by Frankie Leibe and Janette Hayhurst p55 stating 1920s Orrefors and saying plates bowls tumblers etc made in this range but it doesn't mention the designer or name of the range. Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
