So this was my only glass purchase at the car boot today, just appealed to me and don't really know why. So is this soda glass? Lot's of tiny bubbles throughout although doesn't seem to be deliberate. The glass itself is thick and it's dimensions are 7cm in height by 8.5cm and has a ground pontil. Any suggestions as to age?
Thanks

looks like a mortar missing it's pestle? kitchen cookware. Glass has to be thick and durable to cope with the pounding

Good call, I hadn't considered that. So going by the size it's far too small for a kitchen mortar and pestle(20+ years as a chef) so it's likely to be part of an apothecary set or such.
