Title: Your opinions on this antique paperweight, please.
Post by: RescoCCC on February 28, 2014, 11:04:53 PM
Severe damage, so I picked it off cheap. Measures 2 inches in diameter, and 1 1/2 inches high. Concave base. Looking at the cane types and the dome profile, I'm thinking it's Baccarat. Your opinions?

Definitely Baccarat from 1845-1860.  It is a nice paperweight.

Both are very good examples. But strictly speaking they are not "twin brothers"; more like "from the same family". :)

Although they are both have the "4-row concentric, with complex central cane" design, there are differences in the canes used and the number of canes in the rows.
