Title: Large clear pressed bowl with "folk art" type birds and foliage
Post by: SantaR on March 02, 2014, 10:34:03 PM
Hello again!

I have a large bowl that has a couple of birds and foliage on it, like a tree in the middle and a kind of cross in the middle of the tree.  It has three wear spots on the base. 30cm across and 9cm high.  The glass outside of the design in dimpled and the edge of the bowl is somewhat wavy.  I wondered if it was a flat piece that someone has made into a bowl at an art class but with the wear and the style I think it must be around 1970s.  I think it must be about three pounds in weight.

Can anyone weigh in?  Many thanks

Santa

If the photos aren't good enough, please say so and maybe suggest how I could take better ones of patterned clear glass? I tried for ages to capture the birds... :)

Someone on Etsy has a platter that doesn't have the dimpled effect but does have everything else that she thinks might be Kosta Boda, Anna Warff, would this be in the right direction?

It's kind of difficult to see the detail but I can appreciate it's a hard one to photograph.
I had a cheese board plate that turned out to be Ingridglas iirc, so that might be worth investigating, as well as Pukeberg maybe?
I'll try and see if I have any pics left of the plate.

Thank you very much, M.  I will look into those!
