Title: Champagne flute presumably 19th century. ID = Mylenberg catalogue of 1859
Post by: dirk. on March 03, 2014, 08:25:50 PM
...but when exactly - would be the question.
The second nodus right under the bowl might be a clue? Apart from adding a balanced
touch to the general appearance it gives a very nice feel when holding the glass.
The base shows a large, slightly irregular ground out pontil mark.
The glass is ca. 19cm tall.

Any thoughts?

Have you had any champagne out of it? I bet the bubbles go on a lot longer than when using a modern glass. My gut reaction on seeing the glass is about 1830-50. Nice glasees.

from the Mylenberg catalogue of 1859 - cut champagne glass. The previous catalogue of Conradsminde 1840 did not have these glasses. The height is 18,2 cm.

Brilliant, thanks you guys! Date and maker in a few hours... I could get used to that!  ;D
Had no chance to test them yet, Antwerp. Bought them on Sunday. Although - given their
price, 10€ for a set of five, I should possibly better call it a steal.  ;)
