8 inches high with gold flecks and a small polished pontil mark, the dealer thought it may have been S&W's but I'd be very surprised if it was, :o :o ::) ;D
-
I have a feeling it might be french perhaps, but ... just a hunch. :)
-
Hmmm,my wife just said the same thing,strange eh? ::) ;D ;D
-
:whistling X-files theme: ;D
-
I was thinking more 'The Twilight Zone' !! :o :o ;D ;D
-
You rang... :D
Could they be flecks of mica? When cased in amber they can look gold in colour.

Legras, by any chance?
-
Could be right John, hadn't considered Legras thanks Ivo I'll have a look around, ;D
-
Well I've looked at just about every type of Legras known to man ( and woman) and can't see anything like it, Ivo, what makes you think it may be Legras ?
-
It is what French antique dealers usually call this colour.
-
Definitely seen that stuff around in France. Gold is aventurine.
-
Thanks Ivo, Frank, will look more, ;D
-
Keith can you do a good close up both lit and unlit of the flakes in the final layer please?
Could it be mica with an amber transparent final layer casing as John says?

Keith's vase looks Bohemian or Czech to me. That combination of two reds and white is one Ruckl used but usually seen on an opaque reddy clay kind of colour:

Would those colours look like Keith's vase if cased in amber? Anyway, here is an example of mica under amber.

Have taken a dozen pictures, this is probably the best although the colour is a bit pale and the flecks look more silver than gold ( cheap camera ::))
