Title: English or bohemian blue overlay vase help please
Post by: brucebanner on March 10, 2014, 09:14:18 PM
Having tried to sell this a while ago and having no luck it got shelved in the loft. I was having a clear out earlier sorting out a lot of my glass ready to take to the local charity shop and come across this piece of glass. I think this might be a lot older than i thought it was.

It has heavy wear to the base and at least 8 large white and black seeds in the glass, i'm wondering if it's a Victorian piece of Stourbridge glass, maybe by Thomas Webb? any help welcome.

It's 3 3/4 inches in height 4 inches across the base and 4 1/2 inches across the rim.

Hello Bruce,

This vase is looks like an Ajka Crystal piece from Hungary - where I am from.  :)
If this has inside clear glass and outside coloured - 2 layers - this is definitely made by Ajka Crystal.
If you would like to find more information of is visit their website's gallery: http://ajka-crystal.hu/en/gallery
Regards,
Zsuzsa :)
