Title: Antique Venetian escrambled?

Hi all,

I think it is an old Venetian weight. It has a concave base and  a  rough  pontil mark, the surface is somewhat  uneven. 
Mid  or late-19th century?

Hi Marc.

I have had a few similar weights, and concluded that they were Venetian, probably later 19th century rather than mid 19th century.  The canes and general design do not match the dated (and undated) paperweights that I have seen from the late 1840s.
