Title: 1970's? tea light candle holders help please.
Post by: brucebanner on March 12, 2014, 08:40:45 PM
I have tried for a while to find out who these are made by. I thought at first Dartington then maybe Stuart crystal. They are both hand made and very heavy with have a lot of wear to the outer rims of the bases which makes me think they have some age.

There 6 inches in height 3 1/2 inches across the rim and 3 inches across the base. regards Chris.

Base rim looks to be coarsely ground, look close with a glass. Grinding will be consistent texture.

Your right Frank it looks under a jewelers loupe it looks like the base has been pushed against a grinding wheel, that i would never have thought of. I'm wondering if these have been made by a local glass blower in his lunch break, they look so similar to the Stuart crystal hock glasses i come across, thanks for your help yet another tip i have learnt since being here,  regards Chris.
