Title: small compote with ceramic rim
Post by: McArt on March 13, 2014, 06:04:06 PM
Is it Hadeland, Whitefriars or anything else? It's 8cm tall or little more than 3in.
Thank You!

Hello and welcome to the board. The rim is simply white glass. Unfortunately I can't identify the maker.

I saw this and thought it was gorgeous but forgot to bid. I'm sorry can't help on the maker. It's beautifully made and very elegant. You have a lovely piece there. m

It looks a bit venini-ish to me...

Thank you for replies!
Ross it's not glass trailing like on a tango glass, it looks and feels like enamel, I saw WF version described as ceramic so I used that terminology.
Thank You flying free! I like it a lot too, I find it very fine and elegant.
Ivo I wish it was Venini, however I doubt it's Murano, but who knows...

It might be because the white the rim has been coloured with tin oxide (I think I've got that right?) And the contrast with the dark glass makes it a very pronounced white. I don't think it is ceramic. m

See a similar example in green, which I sold to Leni some years ago. Note the outcome of her query to Venini.
