Title: Possible Stuart Savoy pieces or rare variation?

Dear all,

I'm new to this forum. Thank you for the helpful links on Stuart crystal (yo bunny, discontinued designs, replacements, chinamatchers, as well as Robert's book images and another site too). I have visited all of them in search of the pattern I have- to no avail. The closest I've come is the Savoy pattern but my pieces have a star on the foot, the Savoy patterns I've seen do not have a starred foot.

My piece has the Stuart England mark on the foot. The design is a single row of 7 thumbprints, underlined by a horizontal cut with vertical cut intersection between each thumbprint. The columnar stem has arches at top. Star on foot.

Photo attached in case anyone might recognise it or know where else to look?

Three photos would help a lot.

1.   A straight on shot of the base showing the Stuart mark.

2.  A profile shot of the glass - best taken with a telephoto lens against a plain dark background, then cropped if required.

3.   A normal view as I would see it if I was looking at it on a table.

By the way you can correct things for up to an hour or so after posting so if a photo comes out wrong simply remove it, rotate as required and repost.

Thank you very much for your willingness.

I've attached a few more photos. Unfortunately, I do not have a telescopic lens to hand anymore so I've sketched the design (the stem is definitely out if scale but it perhaps helps distinguish what is going on in the highly refractive base of the bowl).

I wasn't sure if these are closer to what would've helpful to you. Happy to take more if needed.

Hmm!  Well it is a post WWII mark c.1945 - 1965).  It is very similar to "Savoy" but the cutting does not have the same position(it has 'slipped' down) so I don't believe it is.  Stuart catalogs are hard to find and the one I have (c. 1964) does not show it.  It is a water glass from its shape and would have been part of a set of 6 glasses and a jug originally.

Thank you, Ross. Sounds reasonable. I'd thought it was a water glass too. I also thought there seemed to be varying heights at which the savoy pattern was applied to different glass shapes in the range. I also couldn't find an official photo/sketch of a savoy water glass so I'm still wondering if it could be a Savoy water glass.... Jury is out I suppose!
